My tummy hurts!

According to the surgeon everything went well and what they found to repair was what they expected to find. Despite being slated for day surgery I ended up in overnight as, predictably, I reacted badly to the anaesthetic. Theo enjoyed spending yesterday with a friend of mine and her small children. Robin picked him up and brought him across to the hospital for a cuddle and breastfeed late evening and then took him home again. They both seem to have got at least some sleep despite Theo being used to feeding in the night. Robin then brought Theo back to the hospital at 9:30 this morning when I was discharged. We then had to take Theo to the children's ward for a blood test but that's a whole other story!

Theo seems to have coped well with my not being here and has been secure enough about my being here to walk away from me into another room several times this afternoon. He charmed the staff on the procedure unit this morning - chatting away and toddling everywhere. His walking is coming on in leaps and bounds - now he's started there's no stopping him!

Given that Theo managed last night with Robin not even getting out of bed when he woke, we're going to try again tonight with me sleeping in Theo's room and Robin and Theo in ours. If it's too much Robin will bring him through to me. This way we'll find whether it's habit or hunger/thirst waking him up in the night. If he can sleep through it will be so much better for me!
